Weekend Recap

February 11, 2019

This weekend was a mix of relaxation and fun with a little bit of work thrown in! It was exactly the type of weekend that I needed after a long week of birthday celebrations! I celebrated my 30something birthday on Tuesday followed by Kee’s birthday on Thursday! Having two birthdays in the same house is fun and exhausting at the same time! By the time Friday rolled around, I was ready for some downtime!

Sleeping in is a thing of the past once you have children, so we were up by at least 7:30 a.m. on Saturday! We spent most of the morning cleaning and then headed out to the grocery stores for food around noon! I have fallen in love with meal prepping and find it best to do all of my grocery shopping on Friday night or Saturday! We used to go on Sundays, but I realized that shopping and meal prepping on Sunday was way too much! After visiting two of my favorite stores for fruits and veggies, Whole Foods and Sprouts, we headed home for dinner! I tried a new salmon recipe and it was so delicious! I’ll link it here just in case you love salmon just as much as we do!

Sunday morning was spent relaxing and having breakfast at home! Brian and I decided to check out the new food hall in downtown Raleigh! The Transfer Co Food Hall is amazing! Not only are there amazing restaurants, but the natural light inside of there is a dream! It’s the perfect mix of food and photo opps! We were going to try the seafood spot at Transfer Co, but decided to go to over to Morgan Street Food Hall for Oak City Fish and Chips instead! We did grab ice cream cookie sandwiches at the Cookie Monster at Transfer! It was really good! The kids loved it! This was our first time visiting Morgan Street Food Hall and we are now addicted to Oak City’s seafood! To say that it was good would be an understatement! It was AMAZING! I can’t wait until the next time we’re there!

After our food hall adventures, we headed over to JC Raulston Arboretum for a photo shoot! It’s always fun hanging out with other creatives! I can’t wait to share some photos from the shoot soon!

I’d love to hear about your weekend! How was it? What did you do? Tell us below!
