THE JOURNAL

Snow Day | North Carolina Photographers

January 19, 2018

The last time that the weather man suggested that we would get several inches of snow, we ran out to Briggs Hardware in downtown Raleigh and bought sleds! We felt like kids waiting on Santa as we hopped in bed that night! Our house sits on a hill and we thought that it would be so much fun to sled down it with the kids! The next morning we looked outside and saw lots of grass! No snow! Just the usual grass and pavement! I was so disappointed! Ever since that time, whenever the weather man says that we’re going to get snow, I’ve been a bit skeptical. I was still skeptical a few days ago when I started hearing about snow in the forecast! Before we moved into our house, we lived in Bunn. We had lots of fun snow days and adventures there and I truly missed our fun snow days! I’m not a huge fan of the cold weather, but I love how pretty snow is!

This was our first “real” snow since we moved into our house and we’ve been here almost 2 years! The girls couldn’t wait to play outside! Kee was a little afraid of the snow as this was his first time seeing it! I just enjoyed looking out the window and admiring how white and beautiful our yard and neighborhood looked!

Thankfully, we were all safe and warm at home! Brian and I managed to binge watch two new shows (The Chi and 9.1.1) and eat lots of mac and cheese and brownies! Plus I made some snow cream! It has been a very long time since we’ve had homemade snow cream! My Mom always made it when I was a kid and I love being able to make it for my kids now! Check out a few photos that we snapped of the girls in the snow! Brian and I even jumped in front of the camera for a quick winter portrait!
