What started out as Deonsha playing the matchmaker for Chris turned into a love story of their own! These two have known each other for over 20 years. They were friends as kids but never entertained the thought of dating. After college, they ended up chatting via Facebook. Deonsha started out giving Chris dating tips but soon realized that he was the man for her. Now these two are planning their special day in 2024!

We had an amazing time hanging out with them in downtown Raleigh for their engagement photos and can only imagine how much fun their special will be! Brian and I can’t wait to celebrate with them next spring!

Tell us about your proposal!

I knew we were going to get married because we had discussed it, but I was not expecting the proposal because we had just closed on our new home. So I would always say I am not worried about the ring right now because I got the house that I wanted. Being that we knew we were going to eventually get married, we started off exploring the idea of having a destination wedding. So on November 1, the day before my birthday, I had a meeting with a destination event planner.  About an hour prior to meeting, I was coming down the steps and here he comes with this Kay Jewelers bag, and pops out the ring box. I was surprised! Normally I can pick up when he is trying to surprise me but this time I did not pick up on a thing.
