Bridal portraits are so much fun! It’s so much fun to see our clients get all dolled up and put on their wedding dresses before the big day! One of the questions that we get quite often is how to prepare for your bridal session! I have put together a few tips to help you prepare for your upcoming bridal session!
Schedule Ahead
Start planning your bridal session months in advance! This will ensure that we find a date that works for everyone! Coordinating dates between a makeup artist, hair stylist, your work schedule and a photographer isn’t always easy! So plan early!
Hair & Makeup Trial
I love when our brides use the same makeup and hair stylist throughout the entire journey! I think it’s awesome idea to have your hair and makeup done for your bridal portraits. It’s also important to use the same team that will be doing your hair and makeup on your special day! This always helps when it comes to having a similar look on your big day!
Rent a Venue
North Carolina weather isn’t always the easiest to predict! It can be sunny one minute and pour down the next! I always suggest that our brides rent a local wedding venue for their bridal session! One of my favorites in the Raleigh area is The Mims House! I will always opt for natural light when it’s available, but it’s important to have a plan just in case it rains!
Bring All of Your Details
Be sure to bring all of the items that you will be wearing on your wedding day! Some things to bring include earrings, necklace, veil and shoes!
Order an Extra Bouquet
I highly suggest that you order an extra bouquet that can be used for your bridal session! I love when our brides have a beautiful floral bouquet to hold!
Bring Mom or a Friend
Bring someone with you! Ask your Mom, sister, aunt or friend to come with you to your bridal session! It’s always great to have an extra set of hands to help with your dress!
