When we first started working weddings a few years ago, I had no idea what to wear! I knew that I needed comfortable clothing and shoes, but that was it! I knew nothing about branding or matching our clothing to our brand! I was clueless! So I took the internet and searched for “what does a photographer wear to a wedding”? Of course, there were lots of options and different bits of advice! From a logo branded polo with jeans to a full suit with a blazer! I think that I confused myself more with that search! 🙂

Now that we’re a few years into the business and think we have our brand more “branded” than before, I wanted to share a few outfits that we created with you! These outfits are perfect for spring, summer, fall and winter weddings! And from my experience with similar outfits, these work great for women who are photographing weddings!

Dress with wedges

I know that there are lots of women photographers who don’t like to wear dresses while shooting weddings! I actually LOVE wearing dresses while shooting weddings! Especially during the summer months as it gets pretty hot in North Carolina and in most of the other states that we travel to! I love pairing my dresses with cute summer wedges! It’s simple, cute and still comfortable! Someone once told us that you should wear all black when working at a wedding! I love all black, but I love wearing colors as well! I think that it adds a little more personality! However, we try to stay away from really bright reds, yellows, and oranges when shooting weddings!

Dress with flats

Here is another dress option for ladies who photograph weddings! I adore any little black dress with a cute pair of flats! I have worn something similar to this even in the winter with cute tights (stockings, leggings with feet, whatever you call them)!

Dressy top with pants

This is probably one of my favorite outfits when working a wedding! A cute, semi-dressy top with a pair of dress pants! Especially those little crop pants that you can buy at Limited.com or Newyorkandcompany.com! I LOVE them! And you can pair an outfit like this with wedges, flats, or oxfords!
