I’ve always loved photography, but for a long time I didn’t realize just how important photographs were! When my Mother passed, I remember looking for a photo of her to use on her obituary! We didn’t have a lot to choose from! We had these huge family albums from my parent’s younger days and from when I was a kid, but no recent photos of us together! I think that our last official family photo was of my Mom, Dad and I when I was like 5 years old! It was sad! The most recent photos that I had of my Mom were from the holidays when we were opening gifts or from a trip that we took to Florida where she was smiling and holding a comb! That is when I started to realize just how important family photographs  were!

That is one of the reasons why I love what I do! I wish that everyone could have photos of them and their family together! When Jacquetta reached out to me about their visit to Raleigh, North Carolina from Washington, DC and asked if I’d photograph their soon to be 1 year old with his family, I was stoked! Being able to help their family document this time in their lives is so special! My hope is that they will be able to look back on these photos for years to come!
