Alexa play “It’s Our Anniversary” by Tony Toni Tone. Am I the only one who thinks about that song whenever someone says it’s their anniversary? It seems like that song was on constant repeat on the radio when I was a kid. Since it’s our anniversary today, I just might need to listen to it on Spotify.

Today marks 6 years since our wedding and 12 years since our first date! Here’s a funny story about us. Brian and I got engaged in May of 2011. We decided to take our time planning our wedding. Between kids, life and other things, we had about 2 different unofficial wedding dates before finally landing on August 17th, 2014. At one point, we thought about August of 2013, then I wanted a spring wedding! But in the end, we landed on the perfect wedding date as it was also our dating anniversary date.

We’re so blessed to be on this journey together! It’s been an amazing 12 years since our first date! 12 years since our phone conversations about growing old together and one day leaving our dentures beside the bed! I think we both knew from almost day one that we were perfect for each other! Things haven’t always been easy and we both have done a lot of growing and maturing over the years, but the last 12 years have been amazing!
