One of the questions that we get a lot is where should I take my engagement photos! There are so many locations to choose from between Raleigh and Durham, so I thought it’d be helpful to share my favorite engagement locations! It’s been awhile since I’ve shared my favorite engagement locations!

Downtown Raleigh

I absolutely love when our couples choose to take engagement portraits in downtown Raleigh. There are so many great areas in downtown. Some of my favorite spots are over near the science museum. This part of downtown is typically quiet and less crowded than some other areas.

Duke Gardens

Duke Gardens is such a beautiful spot for engagement and family portraits. There is a permit and fee required to take photos in the gardens, but I believe it’s totally worth it! Especially during the spring when all of the flowers are in bloom!

NC Museum of Art

The NC Museum of Art is one of my favorite spots in Raleigh for engagement photos! The museum and park make the perfect backdrop for any kind of portrait! It doesn’t matter what time of year, this location is always beautiful! It does get pretty busy on the weekends during the fall months!

 

Your Home

When thinking about locations, don’t forget your home! This option works best if your home gets great natural lighting and you have nice clean spaces that you’d like to use! We can chat about the best time to take photos in your home if you decide to go this route!

Warehouse District

The Warehouse District is another one of my favorite areas for engagement photos in downtown Raleigh! There are some really cool spots near the updated Raleigh Union train station.

WRAL Azalea Gardens

I haven’t always been a fan of the WRAL Azalea Gardens, but it’s a really pretty location for engagement photos! It can be a little busy depending on the time of day and time of year! I have noticed that this is a popular prom photo spot on Saturdays during prom season! The gardens are really pretty and there are some areas near the building that work great in photos too!

Downtown Durham

I love visiting downtown Durham! The American Tobacco Campus is one of the popular spots for engagement photos in Durham, NC! There are some other spots within walking distance that I’ve enjoyed using as backgrounds for our couples!
