I think it’s safe to say that fall has officially hit North Carolina! Time changed this past weekend and we experienced what felt like the coldest morning of 2019 during The Russell’s fall family photo session! It wasn’t, but it certainly felt like it!

No matter how many times that I do this, I’m always nervous before each session! Especially this time around as I was photographing a fellow friend and photographer who I’ve enjoyed getting to know! Mylina and her family were so much fun to work with! We met at Umstead State Park just before sunrise! It’s not everyday that I get to photograph a sunrise session, but whenever I do, it’s a lot of fun! There’s just something about beating the sun out to a location and watching as the sun rises for the day! It’s an amazing feeling! I am a huge fan of fall family photos as it’s one of the prettiest seasons of the year for portraits!

Mylina and Brandon have the sweetest little girl! She’s only 3 years old, but she is so smart and polite! I could have talked with her all day! The fog over the lake created the perfect hazy and unique backdrop! This was my first time being on a fog covered lake! I had so much fun adventuring through Umstead park with these guys!
