Engagement Portraits at Yates Mill Pond Park

August 28, 2020

Erin and David are engaged!!

After the rain and thunder cancelled their first session, we tried for round 2 about a week later! Thankfully, the weather was perfect the second time around! Very hot, but perfect! It’s been a few months since these two joined the Story and Rhythm family. With everything that has been happening with Covid-19, they decided to postpone their engagement session until things calmed down a little!

One of Erin’s favorite days with David includes a visit to the ER for a 1/2 inch gash on her forehead followed by a very spare of the moment trip to Wilmington, North Carolina. They spent the day in Wilmington eating at one of Erin’s favorite restaurants (Flaming Amy’s), walking downtown, the beach and the boardwalk! She also got to show David where she used to live and take classes! I think it’s safe to say that these two love exploring and adventuring the world together!

We’re so excited for David and Erin and can’t wait to celebrate with them next spring!

Tell us about your proposal!

David planned the proposal at my favorite place, Lake Gaston. My grandparents owned a house on the lake since before I was born, and my parents recently bought it from them when they downsized so there’s a lot of family history there. We were going up for Thanksgiving and my parents told us to dress nicely because we were going to take family pictures. We showed up looking great, and my family was wearing sweats and t-shirts so I was a little annoyed, haha! David disappeared for a bit around sunset while I helped in the kitchen, and then he texted me to meet him down on the patio on the water. I went down and he had his phone on a tripod set up, and he said he wanted to take a picture to send to his family. We “took” a picture, and then he took my hand, told me how much he loved me and couldn’t see a future without me, got down on one knee, and proposed! I of course said yes, and my parents and brother were up on the porch watching (there was no actual plan to take family pictures!). We were able to celebrate with my extended family the next few days for Thanksgiving!
