Durham Engagement | Kanisha and Spencer

From my first phone conversation with Kanisha, I knew that we were going to have fun working together! Kanisha and Spencer are engaged and so excited to be planning their wedding day for next spring! These guys are so cute together and you can tell that they have so much fun together! One of the things that I have learned over the years, especially after getting married, is that you have to always find ways to have fun together! I think sometimes we forget to just relax, let things be and have fun!

We met at the American Tobacco campus in Durham for their engagement session! This is one of my favorite places in Durham! If I’m being completely honest, it’s one of the only places I really visit in Durham for photos! I’ve lived in NC my whole life, but I haven’t spent a ton of time in Durham other than random family holidays as a kid at my Aunts or visits to the mall!

I love that these guys chose two outfits for their session! They looked amazing and I can’t wait to share a few highlights from their session!

How did you meet?

We met in the fall of 2010 at Greensboro College. I was a transfer from Louisburg College and we both played football/softball. We would see each other at social events but never really chatted no more then a “Hey, whats going on?”.

How did he propose?

It was June 22nd, 2018 the day our gender reveal. We reserved a section at the Cutting Board in Burlington NC. We had our immediate families and friends to join in on the surprise! The atmosphere was amazing filled with love and joy. It was time to reveal the gender of baby Shoffner which was a boy!! We were both thrilled with excitement to hear our bundle of joy was a boy. After everyone got settled we wanted to thank our love one for sharing this special moment. Little did I know, there was another surprise underway. Spencer was giving his thanks and by the time he finished he was on one knee!! That will always be a memorable night.

So sweet!
