Leading up to my birthday this year, I had all of these amazing ideas! I thought about taking a trip. I thought about getting dressed up and going to a nice restaurant. I thought about planning a photo shoot with makeup and tons of props! But when I thought about what I actually wanted, I realized that I really wanted to keep things simple! I wanted to be surrounded by family. I wanted to lounge in my pajamas for most of the day and watch a movie. I wanted to grab takeout and eat in a nearby parking lot! As I get older, I realize that I don’t have to “fit in” and do what anyone else thinks is cool. I’ve never been all that great at fitting in anyway! No need to start on my birthday!
