THE JOURNAL

Carolina Country Weddings | Christine and Tony

April 1, 2024

We had the best time celebrating with Christine and Tony in the hills of North Carolina. We couldn’t have asked for better weather on a November day. It was absolutely perfect! We met these guys last year as they were planning their special day at Carolina Country Weddings. This was our first time at Carolina Country Weddings venue. It’s a beautiful space with lots of rolling hills. I can totally see why these two chose this venue for their special day.

The day started off with Christine and her family at a nearby farmhouse. Everyone was busy getting ready when we arrived. Tony and his friends were getting ready at a cabin near the reception space. Once everyone was dressed, it was time for the couple’s first look. I love when our couples choose to see each prior to the ceremony. I feel like it really takes a lot of the nerves out of the rest of the day. Plus it gives us a chance to get tons of bridal and groom portraits. Tony’s reaction to seeing Christine in her wedding dress was so sweet.

After lots of photos of the couple and their bridal party, we headed to the ceremony space. I’ve often heard people say that first looks take the emotion out of the ceremony. These two are proof that this is totally not true. There were so many tears during the ceremony. My favorite line of the entire ceremony was when Christine said that Tony was so nice that she married him twice. Hilarious, but true. These two were actually married in a more private ceremony before their wedding at Carolina Country Weddings.

The remainder of the evening was filled with dinner and lots of dancing. These two ended the night with a private last dance while everyone gathered outside for the sparkler exit. Tony and Christine’s special day was magical and we’re so honored to have been a part of it!

Tell us about your proposal!

I rented out a theatre and played an animation that I made about how she makes me feel, and how I couldn’t picture being with anyone else. I pretended like it was part of a film festival, and she didn’t catch on until halfway through the piece.
