One of the questions that we get quite often is “what is the best time of year for engagement photos?” I think that engagement photos can be fun any time of the year! Here’s why! We photograph engagement sessions throughout the entire year! It really doesn’t matter if it’s cold in February or super hot in July, we can always plan for your engagement session! Especially with the weather in North Carolina! Every season is special and has its own unique look!
Spring Engagement Photos
Spring is one of my favorite times of the year! I love when the flowers start blooming! I could pass on the pollen though! Spring is one of my favorite times of the year for outdoor engagement photos! The weather is typically much warmer and there are lots of pretty flowers at the various parks and gardens!
Veronica and Quintin took advantage of the pretty pink blooms near the Old Well during their engagement session in Chapel Hill, North Carolina!
Summer Engagement Photos
I have a love-hate relationship with summer! The weather is usually sunny and the days are longer, which is perfect for evening engagement sessions! But this is the one time of year when I have to worry about our couples melting during our sessions! Everyone knows that the summertime is hot and that means sweat! You can still rock your summer engagement session, we will just plan to meet a little later in the evening when the sun isn’t as high and the temperature has dropped a little!
Brittney and Tim totally rocked their summer engagement session last year! Even in 90-degree weather, these two looked amazing and had fun at the same time!
Fall Engagement Photos
I love how the lighting changes during the fall! It almost seems like the sun has a softer glow during the fall compared to the spring and summer! Plus the weather is typically a little cooler! Fall is a great time of year to take your engagement portraits!
Nicole and Aliedjawon’s fall engagement session was so much fun! I especially love that glowy light in the first photo below!
Winter Engagement Photos
You would never guess that it was winter when Jymmi and Aaron took these photos, but it was! I believe it was either late January or February when we met for their Raleigh engagement session! North Carolina has the funniest weather during the winter! It will be 65 degrees one day and snowing the next! I believe the weather was kind of mild for winter on the day that I met with Jymmi and Aaron!
Winter is a great time for outdoor engagement portraits if you’re not concerned about having flowers or lots of fall leaves in your photos!
No matter what time of year you choose for your engagement session, make sure that you rock it and have fun at the same time!
