We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! There are so many reasons why I love the holiday season! I love that we get to spend a few days off of work doing absolutely nothing. I love making new traditions with our children. I love waking up on Christmas morning and watching the kids open presents. The list goes on, but there are a few traditions that I love so much that I want to share them with you today!

Putting up the Tree

I am always so eager to put up our Christmas tree every year! I force myself to wait until after Thanksgiving! I enjoy listening to Christmas music and putting up the tree with the kids. I remember putting up the tree with my parents as a kid and I enjoy doing it with our children now!

Christmas Eve dinner

After opening presents on Christmas morning, we usually head to our parents or my sisters house for Christmas dinner. I love visiting with family on Christmas day but I also miss having dinner at home with my little family. For this reason, I enjoy having a Christmas eve dinner at home. It gives us a chance to spend together before all of the busyness of Christmas day!

Christmas Light Adventures

We started this tradition last year and the kids have already asked to do it again this year! I’ve always had a fascination with Christmas lights. There is a house in my hometown who has a huge display year after year and we always enjoyed riding by! Last year we packed the kids into the car and headed out in search of cool Christmas light displays. We found a really cool one over by Stonehenge in Raleigh and saw lots of Olafs and reindeer. This year we checked out a few of the neighborhoods near us!
