1705 East Wedding | Brittney and Jon

Jon and Brittney recently tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at 1705 East wedding! Their pink, burgundy, and navy filled wedding day was beyond beautiful! I especially love how much fun these two have together! You can truly tell that they love each other! They were also surrounded by lots of family and friends who love them as well!

When Brian and I arrived at 1705 East, the girls were busy getting hair and makeup done in the bridal suite! If there’s one part of the day that I’m obsessed with, it’s definitely when I get to photograph the details! As a wedding photographer, you find yourself working at a high pace most of the day! This part of the day is typically the time of day when things are calm and the girls are just laughing and having fun! I get to be creative and prepare myself for the “busyness” that comes after the ceremony!

Brittney shared a sweet first look with her Father and her girls before heading downstairs for the ceremony! I love Brittney’s bridal gown and Jon looked great in a custom burgundy tux! The ceremony at their 1705 East wedding was sweet and simple and I love that they chose to do a unity rope! The couple kissed for the first time as husband and wife and then the guest headed into the cocktail hour space!

Dinner and dancing followed for the remainder of the evening! As the wedding DJ, Brian played lots of fun music and everyone had a ball on the dance floor! The newlyweds shared a sparkler exit at the end of the night! Read on to learn how Brittney and Jon met and how Jon surprised Brittney with a very sweet proposal!

How did you meet?

Jon and I met as kids! I was about 10 and he was 12. Our grandmothers lived near each other. He wasn’t living in NC then just visiting. He later moved to NC and we went to HS together. Since our families knew each other, we kept it friendly but didn’t try dating until 2014. It didn’t work out then. We picked back up August 2017 and have been inseparable since.

Tell us about your proposal!

Well, Jon doesn’t celebrate or do much for himself much. He is selfless. He has two sick parents he was working two jobs to care for when we first met. I’m talking about going in at 5 a.m and getting off at 10 p.m. I wanted to do something for him and make it about him for his birthday. So I planned him a 32nd birthday cookout at his dad’s house. It was also going to be a way for our family and friends who hadn’t met to get to know each other because we knew we were about the together forever life! LOL Anywho, I had everything planned. Decorations, food and all. That Friday comes and my best friend called and said her hubby was treating her to a nail spa day and he will pay for a friend. That should have been my first clue. But with everything going on, I didn’t think twice about it. I just looked forward to relaxing with my bestie before the party. So Saturday the day of the cookout comes and Jon is ignoring me. He is cleaning, welcoming guest, talking to everyone but me. I thought he was just overwhelmed, so I fixed him a nice big drink. One that should have lasted for a bit. He downed that drink so fast and kept blowing me off. Come to find out he was nervous. Naturally, I was in my feelings but kept playing hostess. It was finally time to eat, we say grace and Jon hops on the mic and starts thanking everyone for coming. He then calls me up. Uh OH! I was looking a hot mess from being so hot but whatever, it was family. He starts off his speech by telling me how much he loves and adores me and then BAM our song comes on. “This is why I love you, by MAJOR” begins to play. Oh, the tears start rolling because it hit me. My baby was proposing. It meant so much because I always imagined him doing it with just the two of us because he is an introvert. Just shows how much he loves me. He wanted my family and friends there to witness it. 6/30/18 was a special day! Oh and he actually arranged for me to get my nails done with my friend. He gave her the money for my nails and made up the story to make sure my fill-in was photo-ready!

“Call me bias, but it was the best wedding hands down”! Every intricate detail was covered. Love had to be invisible armor we all placed on before we stared the day. The planning, decor, atmosphere, and don’t forget the “open bar”. They were all seamless integrations of one another from different sources. I’m still aesthetic I was able to be a part of this beautiful day. The Howard’s really know how to “Put The Love on Top” *Beyonce Voice
