Unity Canvas Painting

November 24, 2014

There are lots of wedding ceremony traditions that couples choose from for their special day! One of the most popular ceremony traditions is the unity candle or unity sand! When it came time to decide on what we wanted to do for our unity ceremony, we were at a lost! Then we came across the idea of doing an unity canvas painting while browsing Pinterest one day! It seemed pretty cool and unique at the time! Especially being that we consider ourselves both artistic individuals, we decided that it would be the perfect unity ceremony for us!

After making a list of the supplies we needed, I headed out to our local Michael’s Craft store! Here are a list of things that we needed for the unity canvas painting!

Shopping list

1. Blank white canvas. You could use any color canvas, but we chose white so that the color paint we wanted would show up!

2. 2 colors of paint. Our wedding colors were pink and mint!

3. small easel or stand

4. drain pan. We didn’t want to ruin the linen at the venue so we picked up a pan to let the paint drain into.

5. two small glass vases or containers

That’s it! It was really simple and fun on our wedding day! We used acrylic paint and I found that it was a little thicker than I would have liked while pouring it! A tiny bit of water mixed with the paint should fix that!

Have you done something cool for the unity ceremony during your wedding? We would love to hear about it!. unity canvas paintingunity canvas painting
