Topsail Island Elopement | Grace and John

September 17, 2020

It feels like just yesterday that we were meeting John and Grace (along with Grace’s parents) for the first time. But it’s actually been over a year since that day! Grace and John have been planning their dream wedding forever and couldn’t wait to make things “official!” Then Covid-19 happened and their original plans got pushed back to August! When they realized that Covid-19 was still going to be an issue, they decided to get married in a private ceremony with just the two of them!

Topsail Island has a very special place in Grace and John’s hearts. It’s the place where Grace spent many days vacationing with her family as a child. Grace and John have spent lots of time hanging out at the beach there together. It’s a place that Grace hopes to one day share with their kids too!

This was our first visiting Topsail Island but it won’t be our last! We love how peaceful the sound is. Everyone knows that I love spending time at the beach. Topsail Island definitely has that laidback beach vibe that I love.

Grace was busy getting ready when we arrived at the house. John was preparing the ceremony and reception site. We got to spend a little time with Grace before she got into her wedding gown. She looked amazing as always! John cleans up nicely too! I love that Grace chose details that old special meaning. Her Mother’s ring, a pair of borrowed blue earrings and a garter with her new last name.

John and Grace exchanged their vows on a pier on the sound. It was the perfect location. Their best friend was their officiant. After saying “we do”, they exchanged their first kiss as husband and wife. Just after that, they popped a bottle of champagne for a toast and cut the most adorable looking cake.

Although, their wedding day wasn’t what they’ve been planning, it was perfect! Brian and I are so honored to have been a part of their special day! Congratulations Grace and John!
