Tieks Review

May 17, 2018

One of the first things that I realized when I started photographing weddings was that I was going to need a comfortable pair of shoes! Being a wedding photographer is such an awesome job, but standing for 8+ hours can be really hard on your feet! Our go to shoes are Cole Haans as they are so comfortable and stylish! But I’ve always been curious at Tieks! I’m not a huge ballet flat type of girl, but after wearing a pair of Cole Haan ballets for the last couple of years, I’ve kind of fallen in love! I’ve only worn my Tieks a few times so far! I’ve worn them to the grocery store, a wedding and my daughter’s band concert! Here is my pretty early Tieks review!

Grocery store

I ran to the grocery store before our last wedding and thought that I would wear my Tieks! They are super cute and I love the almost mint color bottom! My first thought was that the shoes are bit tight! I figured with them being folded for packaging, it might take a few wears to stretch them out! My left foot is a little bigger than my right foot! But for some reason, my right foot felt tighter in the shoes. It wasn’t bad, but it felt like my right foot was rubbing more near the area where the shoes fold!

Wedding day

After wearing my Tieks for a wedding, I started to think that I made the wrong decision in buying these shoes! Normally I can work an entire wedding in my Cole Haans and my feet do not hurt afterwards! Maybe a little sore, but not like a blister type pain or anything! At one point during the wedding, I debated going barefoot! I didn’t, but I thought about it! I really want to love these shoes, but I will have to try again at our next wedding!

Band Concert

A few days after the wedding, I decided to wear my Tieks to my daughter’s band concert! The shoes felt amazing this time around! However, I pretty much walked into the school, sat down and then walked out! I didn’t spend a lot of time on my feet!

I will have to update you guys once I’ve had a chance to really break these shoes in! Right now, I’m a little torn as I don’t love them, but I also don’t hate them! I do love the packaging and the fact that these shoes come in a ton of different colors! I can totally see a brown pair in my future if they end up being as comfy as my Cole Haans!
