Surprise proposals are one of my favorite portrait sessions. Corey reached out to us about a week before he wanted to pop the question to his girlfriend, Lizzie. He shared how they’ve been dating for a while and that they visited Umstead State Park during a trip to Raleigh before they moved here. He felt that Umstead State Park would be the perfect location to propose and he wasn’t wrong. After chatting through the logistics and praying about some last minute rain, we headed to the lake.
We arrived early and found the perfect spot to stage ourselves. The plan was for Brian and I to be “random” people in the park. Once in the perfect spot by the water, Corey handed Lizzie a letter to read. That letter led to a hug that led to Corey getting down on one knee. Of course, Lizzie said yes! One of the sweetest moments to witness! Lizzie had no idea that we were even there. It was the perfect surprise.
After the proposal, we adventured around the lake taking a few engagement portraits. These two are so cute together and we’re so excited for them. Congratulations again guys!
