Summer Wedding at The Highgrove Estate

I was sitting at my desk, searching for photos to add to our Pinterest page, when I realized that I never blogged this gorgeous wedding! Between shooting weddings and editing everything last fall, I didn’t know that Mary and Michael’s wedding wasn’t already on our blog! Thank goodness, it’s never too late to share these two amazing people with the world!

Brian and I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful but rainy August day with Mary and Michael at The Highgrove Estate last year! Wow, it’s only January, but saying last year sounds like it was so long ago! Mary has the sweetest personality and Michael has a huge sense of humor! Mary also spends a lot of time at one of my favorite places, East Carolina University! Go Pirates!

Before their wedding day, Brian and I had talked with Mary over the phone several times, but we’d never met in person! It was so much fun meeting Mary and Michael for the first time! Mary and her girls were busy getting dressed in the bridal suite when we arrived! Michael and his boys were across the hall in the groom’s suite getting ready for the ceremony! Mary chose to share a first look with her Father just before the ceremony at the bottom of the staircase! So sweet!

The ceremony took place outside of the house! The forecast called for rain right around the time that the ceremony was to begin! Thankfully, it stopped a little before the ceremony and held off until after these two exchanged their vows! Their ceremony was so beautiful! I’m so glad that Mary asked me to get the kiss with the audience in the background! I love that idea and the photo was amazing! Being able to see their friends and family as they kissed for the first time as husband and wife is so cool!

After the ceremony, we headed out front to take photos of the family, bridal party and the couple! The reception took place inside of the ballroom! Now I have to say that I LOVE the ballroom at The Highgrove Estate! It’s so elegant yet simple! These two ate dinner and danced with their family and friends! They ended the night with sparklers and a kiss before hopping into their getaway car!
