When you think about a wedding reception, you probably think of an indoor ballroom with dim lighting and lots of candles! However, there are other options for a wedding reception! With all of the restrictions right now, you may be wondering should you have an outdoor reception!
I love outdoor receptions! I think it’s a mix of my love for outdoor photography and knowing that there will be lots of beautiful, natural lighting! Some of our first wedding receptions took place under large tents at outdoor wedding venues and homes! Here are a few outdoor receptions to give you guys some ideas! An open air reception would be awesome but if there’s a chance of rain, you can simply add a tent!
Chelsea and Clay tied the knot at Forest Theatre in Chapel Hill and then held their reception at the nearby Horace Williams House! The weather was great and their guest enjoyed lots of shade from the large tent!
These guys said “we do” in an outdoor ceremony at Rand-Bryan House before moving to the backyard for their reception! I love that they chose to spend the entire day outside.
Brittany and Tim exchanged their vows, danced and ate dinner with their friends and family under this tent outside of the Bradford in New Hill last summer!
We were back at the Horace Williams House for Veronica and Quintin’s wedding day! Their ceremony and reception took place on the grounds of the house!
These guys had their ceremony and reception in the same space at Jiddi in downtown Raleigh! I love that they got to party under the twinkle lights and stars during their outdoor reception!
Outdoor wedding receptions are awesome, but be sure to have plan B in case of bad weather!
