Deon and Chris are officially married! We got to celebrate these two in the heart of Raleigh, North Carolina back in April. After months of planning, their special day was finally here. The Renaissance North Hills is one of our favorite hotels in the Raleigh area. I especially love the grand chandeliers in the ballroom and all of the detailing throughout the hotel.
When we arrived, Deon was busy getting her hair and makeup done while Chris and his guys were getting ready downstairs. We photographed their gorgeous details while everyone finished getting dressed. Before long it was time for the ceremony in the main ballroom. I love that the couple asked all of their guest to wear black. I think that’s a nice touch and helps to keep all of your guest more uniformed for portraits. The ceremony was beyond sweet! There were so many tears throughout the room.
Everyone headed out to cocktail hour after the ceremony while the couple and wedding party took portraits outside of the hotel. The ceremony spaced was flipped into a gorgeous black filled reception space. Chris, Deon and their wedding party brought the energy for the reception. Everyone enjoyed dinner, desserts and then hit the dance floor. The couple chose to end the night with a private last dance.
We’re so glad that we were able to celebrate with these guys! Check out a few highlights from their special day at the Renaissance Hotel North Hills!
Tell us about your proposal!
I knew we were going to get married because we had discussed it, but I was not expecting the proposal because we had just closed on our new home. So I would always say I am not worried about the ring right now because I got the house that I wanted. Being that we knew we were going to eventually get married, we started off exploring the idea of having a destination wedding. So on November 1, the day before my birthday, I had a meeting with a destination event planner. About an hour prior to meeting, I was coming down the steps and here he comes with this Kay Jewelers bag, and pops out the ring box. I was surprised! Normally I can pick up when he is trying to surprise me but this time I did not pick up on a thing.
