It has been one year since the delivery guys dropped off our Peloton bike! One year with Peloton!?!? It’s hard to believe that it’s been an entire year. Time goes by fast when you’re having fun! And that is exactly what I’ve been having with my Peloton! Every time I take a class that gets me dancing on the bike, I fall in love even more with this bike that goes nowhere. Peloton has been a complete game changer in my life. Here’s why.
For the longest time, I struggled with finding a way to workout that didn’t include having to find a babysitter or drive miles to a gym. After our lovely client, Sheena, introduced me to cycling back in 2019, I knew that I’d found something I enjoyed! Cycling was hard, but fun! I’ve never been a fan of cardio. I’ve always been the girl who gets bored on a treadmill after 10-15 minutes of walking or jogging. So when I discovered cycling, it was like a breath of fresh air. After one year of riding my Peloton, I’ve finally discovered the one type of cardio that I don’t hate! Yes, I am out of breath every class. Sometimes I feel as though my heart is going to beat out of my chest. I thought that it would get easier by now, but it hasn’t. However, I have gotten stronger over the last year. I also love the thought that once I’ve clipped in, I can’t clip out until class is over! It’s more a mental thing than actually not being able to clip out!
I’ve always enjoyed weight lifting and Peloton’s strength classes have been amazing! I love that there is a huge variety of classes from beginner to advanced. Brian loves the strength classes too! It’s been a great addition to our home and family.
I thought I’d answer some of the questions that we hear the most when it comes to Peloton.
Does Peloton help you lose weight?
Yes and no! Any exercise program can help you lose weight, but I’m a huge believer that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. I’ve lost weight with Peloton, but I’ve also gained weight with Peloton. No amount of cycling will make you skinny if your diet isn’t at least halfway where it needs to be!
Are the instructors real people?
Yes, the instructors are real people! That is one of the things that I really love about it. The instructors are real people who you can get to know and follow on social media. I swear Robin and I are besties!
Is the bike worth the cost?
Definitely a yes! Before we purchased our Peloton bike, I used a Sunny bike ($300 or so off Amazon) for about a year! I got a good workout with the Sunny and saw results (again, based on my diet too), but once I tried the Peloton bike in a showroom, I was sold. My workout is so much harder with the bike vs my sunny bike. I love the community aspect that you receive by using the bike with the screen as well. Some of these features may be available on the app, but I never saw them while I was using the app. It’s been one of the best investments we’ve made in a long time!
How often do you cycle?
I used to take a cycle class almost everyday! For the longest time, I had a hard time taking a rest day! But lately, I’ve scaled back on riding and worked on increasing my strength classes. I absolutely love the bike, but I still adore strength classes a little more. Lifting weights has a way of making you feel super strong!
Do you have a referral code?
Yes! Our referral code is 9UCMRB. If you’re thinking about buying a Peloton bike or tread, just do it! You won’t regret it. You can use our code to receive $100 towards accessories (think free cycling shoes or a mat).
Brian and I have truly enjoyed being a part of the Peloton community this past year! We look forward to seeing you on the leaderboard!
