As a wedding photographer, I’m usually more like a fly on the wall! We spend so much time working with our couples before the big day so that we’re certain that we have all we need prior to the wedding! The day of the wedding I’m usually behind the scenes capturing photographs and helping our couples with small details! I haven’t been a wedding guest in forever it seems! But this past September, that changed! It was the day of my Father’s wedding! I still had my camera in hand capturing photos of him and his newlywed, but I got to be a daughter, a friend and a guest! I got to laugh with family and cheer my Daddy on as he danced with his new bride for the first time!

When my Mother passed in 2008, I didn’t think that there would ever be another woman good enough for my Dad! My Mom was everything to our family and losing her was so hard! For the past almost 10 years, we’ve grown as a family and learned to lean on one another. Then one day, my Dad introduced me to this sweet lady! From my first conversation with her, I knew that she was perfect for my Dad! Crazy enough, they actually dated back in high school. They were high school sweethearts who ended up breaking up and marrying other people. Years later, they were reintroduced and have spent just about everyday together! Knowing that my Dad has someone to laugh and grow older with (I love you Daddy) is amazing feeling!

I realize that no one can ever replace my Mother, but I’m happy that my Father has found love! Plus I got to see him dance for the first time in my entire life!
