I truly enjoyed hanging out with these guys in downtown Raleigh! They are an amazingly sweet and fun couple! We started their engagement photo session at Mordecai House before heading out to Yates Mill Pond Park! Read on to learn more about their story and how they reached this point!

How did you meet?

We met in high school in 1998 – Jimena asked a mutual friend about James. We were introduced and started a friendship, which included hanging out at football games together.

Tell me about your proposal!

James surprised Jimena by showing up the Friday before Memorial Day in 2014. Jimena thought she would be spending the holiday alone. She went home from work and decided she was going to take a walk when she received a Facetime call from James. He said he had something he wanted to ask her face to face, but he didn’t say he was outside her door. He told her he would call her back, which slightly irritated her 🙂 Then she heard the doorbell ring. She didn’t expect anyone or anything so she didn’t answer it. The doorbell rang a second time and she went to it, and James was standing there smiling. He came in and asker her to sit down at the table, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Jimena said yes, and the rest is history!
