I always joke with Brian that I really wish I could remember what he said to get my attention. I imagine that it must have been something really good. He probably said something really sweet (he’s that type of guy)! You see when Brian and I met almost 8 years ago, I was not looking for a relationship. My Mom had recently lost her battle to breast cancer and I was just getting out of a pretty serious relationship. The last thing on my mind was a “boyfriend!” I had just started a new job at a really cool software company and I just wanted to focus on me.

It’s funny how life has a way of changing your plans!

One day in mid June, I received a message on Facebook from this guy named Brian. I had no idea who he was, but we had friends in common. So I asked my girlfriends who were mutual friends “who is this guy?” After chatting for a little while over the phone, we planned to meet for lunch at Jersey Mikes. I think this was my first time ever eating at Jersey Mikes, but the food was good and it was a lot of fun getting to know this guy. After another month of chatting, dates and even a trip out of town with friends (that’s a later post), he asked me out. Initially I said no, but after thinking about it and realizing that he seemed super sweet, I changed my answer. And here we are 8 years later!
