Graduating from college with honors was something that I never dreamed of! Brian and I both graduated Magna Cum Laude from college back in 2011! Up until then, I had never been an all A student! In grade school, I was the kid who was okay with making a B or C! I wasn’t a huge fan of studying! I would rather watch T.V, talk on the phone with my friends or play video games! That was until I realized that my younger nephew and his friends were making A’s and on the honor roll! Listening to them talk about how awesome their report cards were gave me the motivation to step it up in school!

Right after high school, I headed to East Carolina University! The semesters were long and the deadlines were sometimes months away! There were a ton of parties and a lot more people than I was used to in our small town! Grades were definitely not at the top of my mind. Although they should have been!

I had no idea what I wanted to be! Initially my plan was to major in biology and become a pediatrician one day! Then I thought about becoming a teacher and switched my major! The following year I decided that I wanted to become a social worker! I was seriously confused! I look back now and realize that I probably should have taken time to decide what I wanted to be before I ever entered college!

A couple of years after Brian and I met, we decided that we wanted to go back to school! We were both accepted and spent the next couple of years working during the day and taking classes at night! It was fun attending college together! And the best part was that we motivated each other to do our best! We both graduated with honors and even though, I’m not officially using my degree now! It was totally amazing to graduate as a couple!
