Our first time meeting Conor and Rachel was on their wedding day! Although it felt like we’d known them for years! Rachel and Conor are the absolute sweetest two people! We’re so excited to share their MacGregor Downs Country Club wedding with you!
This past May, Conor and Rachel exchanged vows at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Cary, NC before heading over to MacGregor Downs Country Club for their reception! We started the day with the girls at a hotel across the street! The girls were busy getting hair and makeup done when I arrived! Getting ready is definitely one of my favorite times during a wedding day! Once hair and makeup was complete, everyone headed to the church to finish getting dressed!
The ceremony was so sweet to witness! Watching Rachel walk down the aisle with her Dad was precious! And watching her walk out with Conor was so much fun! After the ceremony, we headed back to the country club for photos and the reception!
I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard during a wedding reception! Conor’s best man gave the most hilarious speech of all times! Rachel and Conor danced together for the first time as newlyweds! They shared cake and even ran into the basketball coach from their alma mater and place they met, NC State University! What are the odds that he’d be eating dinner right across from the reception! So cool!
I think it’s safe to say that these guys had the best day in Cary, NC! Check out a few highlights from their day now!
Tell us about your proposal!
My family vacations in Hatteras, NC every year and Conor has been able to join us the past few years. So this past summer of 2020, Conor was able to spend a long weekend with us. He had already planned it with my parents and sister ahead of time how the night would go down. To me, I just thought we were having a normal vacation dinner with fresh fish. I thought the night was so relaxing and was taking my time eating and enjoying everyone’s company (later I found out everyone else was very concerned we weren’t going to make it in time for the sunset proposal on the deck). But once we finally finished eating, we all migrated to the deck with drinks to watch the sunset. My sister asked if I would take her picture for her so I was taking this responsibility very seriously. I hardly noticed Conor calling my name. When I finally turned around he was down on one knee with the ring out and asked in true Conor fashion, straight to the point, “Hey Rach, will you marry me?” I was shocked and overwhelmed with excitement, I think my first words were “Is this real?” and then I saw my family taking pictures and videos and realized, yes it is! We spent the rest of the night celebrating with my family and calling Conor’s to tell them the news!
