One of the things that I love about weddings is that every couple has the freedom to plan their special day based on what they love! Some of our couples choose to have 200+ guest celebrate with them on their wedding day! Some choose to have 20 of their closest family and friends in attendances! That is the beauty of love and weddings! When Brian and I were planning our wedding, we would have loved to have everyone that we knew come celebrate with us. But instead decided to invite around 100 people which included our closest family and friends! That was perfect for us!

I’ve always enjoyed small intimate weddings! The first wedding that I ever photographed in Chapel Hill, NC was a very small wedding at a place called The Weathervane! The bride was just the sweetest and she was so excited to marry her guy! They were surrounded by their family and friends in this unique little courtyard beside the restaurant. It was sweet and simple! The first photo below is from that wedding years ago!

The word elopement has many meanings! For some, it means to get married secretly! For some, it may mean going to the Justice of Peace, taking photos nearby and having a dinner of sorts right after! There are so many things that you can do with an elopement! Years ago, I photographed an elopement in the middle of a nearby garden! There was just the couple, the officiant, their parents and siblings! They exchanged vows and we took photos immediately after of them and their family!

With everything that is happening in the world right now, it’s no surprise that elopements and intimate weddings are regaining in popularity! For this reason, Brian and I have decided to introduce 3 new elopement packages! It doesn’t matter if you’re planning a complete wedding day but with less guest and less hours or if you’re planning to elope in the mountains of North Carolina!
