Importance of Printing Your Photos

Printing digital photos of your family

There were so many photos in those books

When I was a kid, my parents kept two huge photo albums in a bookcase in the hallway! I loved looking through those photo albums! One was brown with gold trim and the other one was blue with gold trim! I could tell that they must have bought them together! There were so many photos in those books.

Photos of my Mom and Dad in their younger days! Some from my Dad’s fishing trips. Some of my Mom with her siblings. Lots of my sisters dressed in old school outfits with big afros. Then there were the photos of me! Lots of baby photos. I loved seeing how I looked as a baby! One random photo really sticks out in my mind! I was asleep, laying across my Mom’s lap while she sat outside at what looked like a cookout! It’s just a random photo, but it sticks out in my mind!

Having printed photos is so important. Especially years from now. Sometimes it’s the random photos that seem silly at the time that really mean a lot later! As my Mom got older, she didn’t take as many photos. I remember one photo that I took of her during a trip to Florida. She was holding a comb and striked a silly pose! Another random photo, but it’s one of my favorites.

I can’t tell you where the camera that I used to take that photo is or what computer I was using at that time! Thankfully, my parents taught me the value of printing photos at a very young age! Now that is something that I hope to pass down to my children! Digital media is amazing, but things happen! I love the idea of having photos stored in a book or box in a safe space. Just in case something ever happens to those media files, you know that your photos are printed and safe.
