Hiring A Wedding DJ | Raleigh DJs

March 23, 2014

Hiring a wedding DJ was on the top of our wedding list when it came to planning our day! We knew that we wanted to dance an have a big party at the end of the night! For that reason, we knew that we needed a DJ! No one makes a party quite like a DJ! I’m thankful that Brian is a DJ and has lots of friends in the industry, but if he didn’t, these tips would have been super helpful! These are directly from a wedding DJ, better known as Brian!

Experience

I highly suggest that you meet and chat with any DJ before hiring them! Be sure to ask how many weddings they have actually disc jockeyed or emceed! Just like with most things, you get better with time! Every wedding is unique and brings their own challenges! You want to make sure that whoever you choose, has experience dealing with the pressures that weddings bring!

Presentation is everything

Maybe not everything, but it is a HUGE part of it! For example, you have spent months planning each little detail. Spent thousands of dollars on decorations, lighting, flowers, a pretty venue, etc and then the DJ shows up with the worst looking equipment and has wires running everywhere in the room! Brian suggest that you take a look at the DJ’s setup in past photos or videos! Plus the attire is a big part of the day as well! Brian suggest finding a DJ that will dress and look professional the entire day along with someone who will dress according to your wedding guest! No sneakers and jeans if you’re going for a black tie affair! 🙂

Reviews and references

Before hiring a wedding DJ, be sure to check out his or her reviews and references! I believe that past clients are awesome at sharing how good (or bad) a wedding vendor is! Ask for a list of references and check in with a few of them! Or check out your potential DJ on Weddingwire! This will be an awesome way to see what others thought of their experience!

We hope that you found these tips helpful in choosing your wedding DJ!

And there is Brian at a 50th birthday party in Cary, NC last year! His smile was huge! 50th Birthday Party Raleigh DJ
