Our baby girl turns 9 years old today! OMG! Where has the time gone?! It feels like we were just taking that drive to the hospital to be induced! Just in case I never shared Addie’s birth story, here’s what happened!

My due date was December 21st, 2011! We were so excited and eager to meet this little baby! I remember counting down the days until my due date. Then my due date came and went! Still no baby! Everyone thought that she would be born on Christmas! I prayed that she wasn’t! Ironically enough, all of our kids have been born close to other holidays! Our oldest was born the day before Mother’s day! Kee was born 2 days after my birthday (yes, my birthday is an official holiday to me!) So it’s only right that Addie came close to Christmas! Thankfully, Christmas came and went that year without Addie making her arrival! After being almost a week late, my doctor decided to induce me! I was beyond ready at this point! On December 28th, Brian and I drove to the hospital to get induced! I always joke that labor with Addie felt like a 9 to 5 job. I got induced at 9 a.m. and Addie was born at 5:21 p.m. She was definitely my easiest delivery! Although she was an entire week late! I know that she came on God’s timing and not ours!

The past 9 years have been amazing with this little one! She definitely keep us on our toes. She’s very caring but very sassy at the same time! I’ve always said that she’s our most persistent child! You know how some children will cry and eventually stop once they realize that they’re totally okay. Not Addie! I remember driving in the car with her when she was a baby! She would cry nonstop until she got what she wanted! There was no such thing as self soothing with her! I knew at that moment that we were in for it! And she’s still that same persistent little girl now!
