Family Trip to Kure Beach

One of my favorite memories from my childhood is taking family trips to the beach with my parents! I remember sitting in the backseat of the car listening to music like Al Green, hoping that we were almost there so many times! There’s one occasion that stands out vividly, but I’m not sure why! We had just left Atlantic Beach, it was raining and Al Green “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” was playing! It may have been the thought of leaving the beach or something that I just don’t remember at all! But I do remember that I loved those trips to the beach! Even if we were only there for the day!

Now that we’re parents, I want my kids to have some of those same experiences! Maybe not the Al Green playing in the car, but I want my kids to love the calmness of the ocean! Feel the sand on their toes! Hear the wind blowing and the waves crashing! There’s something about the beach that is so calm and peaceful! After one of my recent family sessions at the beach, I decided that it would be the perfect time to let the kids enjoy the beach for a little bit!

The weather was perfect for a late April day! The sun was just about to set! We hung out in the sand! The kids ran around! Keegan got to walk in the sand for the second time in his life! The first time was months ago and he probably doesn’t even remember that time! It was the perfect ending to a family trip to Kure Beach!
