Meeting and hanging out with Alleya and Shaun for the first time at their engagement session was awesome! I love that they chose to take their engagement portraits in downtown Raleigh! Let me just start by saying, wow! So I’ve done so many sessions in this part of downtown Raleigh! But I totally discovered some new spots that I will be adding to my favorite list from now on! I am obsessed with the location, light, everything! Plus these two are just the sweetest and so much fun to be around! Brian and I enjoyed walking through downtown and chatting with these two until the sun went down!

Can’t wait to celebrate with Alleya and Shaun next year!

We got engaged on a Caribbean island, in St. Marteen. We had a feeling that we would be getting engaged that trip. My mother mailed us a ring that was special to her. She wanted us to incorporate at least one of the diamonds into my engagement ring to symbolize her always being with me. After spending time on the island with my sister and her boyfriend, we went downtown and found a few jewelers to look at possible engagement rings. The last jeweler we went to showed us his selection and instantly one of the settings stood out to me. I instantly know that it was my ring. They asked us if he was going to propose and he told them that he wasn’t sure but had something in mind. However, after I fell in love with my ring and him knowing how impatient I am, he decided to change his plan and propose right then and there in the store. They took pictures and gave us champagne to celebrate. My sister and her boyfriend were there. The proposal was perfectly us- in every way.
