Meet Me-Me and Jay! These two are so in love and planning their summer wedding in the Caribbean! I first met Me-Me back in November when she first did my makeup for our family portraits. She told me all about how her soon to be husband proposed and showed me her gorgeous engagement ring! So of course, I was completely stoked when she asked me to photograph her engagement photo session in Raleigh, North Carolina! She told me how she was a true city girl while Jay is from the country! I thought it would be awesome if we visited a couple of locations to incorporate a little city and a little country into their engagement portrait session!
We started our day in downtown Raleigh in the warehouse district! This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina! It has a sweet, urban charm to it with lots of brick and old buildings! The outfits that Me-Me and Jay chose were perfect for this location!
Just look at these two! Gorgeous!
Since this Amtrak train was just hanging around, we thought it would make for the perfect backdrop!!
A little chalkboard fun to wrap up our time in downtown Raleigh!
Next we headed over to the Historic Oak View County Park in Raleigh for part 2 of our session! Downtown was full of urban charm and so I wanted to incorporate a little country charm as well! Jay and Me-Me wore the cutest Superman and Wonder Woman shirts!
We spent the rest of the evening adventuring around Oak View County Park! I just love these two together! What an amazing couple!
You can’t have the country without a little cotton! 🙂
Here is a little insight straight from Me-Me!
“Jay gave me a fantastic wedding story.”Black Friday” will never have the same meaning again. After Mr. Man put me on a 24-hour ban of social media (like Vince did to Tamar) I can now recount the events of yesterday. The day in Chicago was supposed to be a day for just the two of us away from family and everyone else. I agreed to let him plan it and went with the flow. We started at the Museum of Science and Industry, then we checked into the Radisson Blue Aqua where I learned he’d made dinner reservations on the Odyssey Dinner Yacht off Navy Pier from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. An hour remained in the cruise when he suggested we go to the TOP deck IN THE COLD to take some pictures. I can’t believe I fought the man until he begged me to take just one pic in front of the skyline, then as I turned to BOLT he said “wait…I don’t want the photographer to miss this pose” then got down on one knee and proposed! Of course I said “YES through screams and tears, then when we returned to the cruise the whole boat applauded as the DJ played “It’s Your World” by J-Hud and R. Kelly for our first dance as a newly engaged couple. A Superman “Build-A-Bear” and roses he MADE BY HAND and snuck here on the plane were waiting in the room when we got back! Cloud 9 is an understatement! I got a diamond and didn’t have to stand in line or fight a crowd!! I love you Jay Taylor. You really outdid yourself! I couldn’t be happier!”
We are so excited for these guys and can’t wait to see photos from their wedding in the Caribbean! Thanks again for hanging out with me and cheers to love and marriage!!
