Durham wedding DJ | Brian’s DJ Bag

Black wedding DJ in Durham

It’s amazing to think of all of the equipment that a wedding DJ brings to a wedding. Between my photography bags and Brian’s equipment, it’s a lot. We thought it would be fun to share what’s in one Durham wedding DJ’s bag! We might need to say “bags” as he has several that he brings! We’re not including specific brands for the equipment as we believe that’s strictly personal preference. Most of the major DJ equipment brands on the market will work great and there’s no need for one specific brand! Some of Brian’s favorites are QSC and Denon. Brian is mostly a hip hop wedding DJ in Raleigh, but he enjoys listening to and playing all genres of music.

The big stuff

Speakers – Brian packs at least two large speakers for every wedding.

Two laptops – One for playing off of and one as a backup.

Turntable – This is what Brian uses to make the magic happen.

The smaller stuff

Hard drives – All of the music that you hear is stored on multiple hard drives.

Headphones – Self explanatory

Microphone – A wireless microphone is a must for announcements and toast throughout the evening.

Cables – These are the cables and wires that connect everything together.

Velcro straps – For controlling all of those cables and wires.

Ipod – Sometimes it’s easier to use an iPod setup for the ceremony or cocktail hour instead of moving lots of equipment around. This can also serve as a backup of music.

Tape – This also helps to control all of the cables and wires. It’s especially useful to taping wires to the floor in some instances.

Batteries – Mostly AA or AAA are needed for the microphone.

Business cards – Just in case someone asks for one and to trade with new vendors.
