We absolutely love our couples! I like to think that we work with some the coolest, sweetest and funniest couples on the planet! This was definitely true when I met Candice and Le’Marquis for the first time a few months ago! We first met at Barnes and Nobles and I had the pleasure of meeting their little family! I felt so special to be meeting such a sweet family! We planned to photograph their downtown Durham engagement photo session a few months later! I couldn’t wait! I adore love and photographing love is one of one of my fave things to do!

On the day of our session, we met at the American Tobacco District area in downtown Durham! It had been a cloudy day, but I was just thankful that the rain was holding off! I always suggest an engagement session for all of our couples because it gives us a chance to hang out, laugh and get to know each other a little better! I definitely don’t want to feel like a stranger on your wedding day!

I can’t visit downtown Durham without incorporating a few pieces of the landscape into our sessions! This tower is one of my favorites!

I love when our couples really enjoy each other and ignore me for a few minutes during our sessions! It gives me a chance to really capture “them”! And who they are, no posing, just natural!

I always pray that our couples don’t think I’m completely crazy after our sessions! When I suggested spending part of our session at The Parlor ice cream shop in Durham, NC, I just knew that Candice would think I would nuts! But she didn’t and we headed over there for some ice cream! Lots of desserts and we even shared her engagement ring with a spice cookie! That is the easiest name of the cookie for me as I couldn’t begin to pronounce the other name of it! 🙂

We ended our day near the Durham Bull! You can’t be in the bull city without checking out a Durham bull! 🙂 I had an awesome time hanging with Candice and Le’Marquis, and can’t wait until their September wedding!! It is going to be so much fun!
