Disney Vacation 2018

It’s no secret that I love to travel! Brian can tell you that I am always searching for our next big adventure! Earlier in the year, I started thinking about a family trip that would be fun for our entire family! It’s not always easy finding things that everyone will enjoy when our kids are so different in ages! Before last week, our kids had never been on a plane and we had never been to Disney together! Initially, we thought about taking a Disney cruise, but then the kids decided that they really wanted to visit Disney World! I think it was the idea of roller coasters that really got them!

Thursday

We woke up really early on Thursday morning and headed to the airport! I’m not sure if the kids were more excited about Disney or the plane ride! After a short delay, we were off and on our way to Orlando! Let me give you a little backstory! In the months leading up to our trip, I watched a ton of Youtube videos about Disney and read I don’t know how many blogs! Traveling with 3 kids was totally new to us and I was open to anything that might help us have a better trip! Everything that I read suggested that you schedule some downtime during your trip with kids! So we decided to just hang out at the resort on our first day! The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has an amazing pool, lazy river, and water slide that we all enjoyed! There’s also a Disney store, arcade and lots of restaurants!

Friday

It was officially time to head to the Magic Kingdom! I had heard so many stories of people not being able to ride a lot of rides and how the crowds were always crazy. We decided that we’d get there before the park officially opened and it was probably one of the best decisions! We had fast passes for rides all day, but managed to ride a lot of rides without them! It was so fun watching the kids laugh and have fun! Keegan really enjoyed Tomorrowland Speedway, the Mad Tea Party and Dumbo! The last time we were at a theme park, Addie was afraid to ride the rollercoasters! This time she rode all of them, even Space Mountain! We had so much fun in the Magic Kingdom!

Saturday

Saturday was our day to head to the Animal Kingdom! We decided pretty early on that we probably wouldn’t spend the entire day at the park as we really wanted to visit the pool at the resort again! Our favorite rides were the Kilimanjaro Safari, Na’vi River Journey, and Kali River Rapids! I absolutely loved Kali River Rapids! It was so much fun! We loved visiting the different countries in the Kingdom, especially Africa and Asia! There were some really cool spots for photos in Africa! We grabbed ice cream cones with the kids and headed out of the park around 3 p.m. We spent the rest of the day at the resort pool and hanging out in the room!

Sunday

Being that the kids knew about our trip months in advance, we wanted to surprise them in some way during our trip! We decided that the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party would be a perfect surprise! We told the kids that we’d just be hanging out at the hotel on Sunday! We ended up grabbing brunch at Cheesecake Factory at Millenia Mall. Then headed back to the hotel room to change for our evening surprise! The kids were so excited to go back to the Magic Kingdom! Brian and I were too! The Magic Kingdom really brings out the kid in you! I love that the rides remain open during the party so that you can enjoy a lot of your favorite rides without a long wait! There were no fast passes and the lines were long all day on Friday for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but we got to ride it twice during the party! Plus riding rollercoasters at night is an entirely different experience than in the daytime! Some of the shops were giving out free chocolates, cookies and apple cider!

Monday

Addie had been begging to visit the arcade since we arrived on Thursday! We slept in until about 9 a.m., packed up our suitcases and headed down to the arcade!! I think that we were all a little sad that it was time to head home! We Ubered to the airport and discovered that our flight had been delayed from 4:40 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. From there, things went downhill! Due to the snow and weather back home, we ended up being delayed until 10:20 p.m. Sitting in an airport with a toddler is no fun! Thankfully, there weren’t any meltdowns and Kee fell asleep as soon as the plane drove away from the gate!

We had so much fun on our Disney vacation and can’t wait until our next adventure!
