When we started the business, we were a family of 4. We were living in the house where I grew up as a child, surrounded by lots of trees and animals. We always knew that there would be deer in our backyard. It was just that country, but it was what I had known for the majority of my life. Brian, however, didn’t grow up in the country but he quickly adapted! It was a little different from being 5 minutes from a mall or a restaurant, but we all adapted to where we were at that time.

Now we’re a family of 5 and living in a new town. Yes, our family has grown and so has our business, but we always find a way to adapt and change. For the past couple of months, I have been on “maternity leave.” I say that very loosely as I really never stopped sending emails and blogging. I simply took a break from photographing sessions. I have enjoyed spending all day cuddling with our sweet newborn, but I am so ready to get back to what I love doing. And that is photographing our couples and weddings.

Nothing has changed when it comes to our business! We’re still booking weddings and engagement sessions. We’re still in the office answering emails and working. We’ve learned to adapt to our life changing. Life will always change, but we continue to do what we love. And that is to DJ and photograph beautiful weddings. Family is definitely important to us and a huge part of our lives, but so is our business.

We will always find a way to do what we love. Whether that means writing emails at 12 a.m. when the kids are all asleep. Or holding a meeting in a park so that our kids can run and play while we chat. We will always adapt to whatever change may come our way!
