THE JOURNAL

Wedding at the Highgrove Estate | Raleigh Photographer

February 21, 2014

It was a beautiful day in January for a winter wedding at The Highgrove in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina! I can imagine that the Highgrove is on every photographer’s bucket list of places to photograph! With it’s unique charm, beautiful rooms and gorgeous ballroom, it is easily a bride’s dream wedding venue!

We then headed upstairs to find our bride! She was busy getting her makeup done by S. Davis Makeup Artistry! I have an addiction to photographing makeup details, not sure what my deal is! Our bride was already partially dressed, so Brian and I grabbed a few photos of her pretty gold shoes and the skirt of her dress! Her dress was exquisite! She actually traveled to Pakistan a few months before her wedding to purchase her dress! How cool is that!

Once we arrived, we immediately started photographing the outside of the house! I love that red door!Highgrove in Fuquay Varina, North CarolinaHighgrove in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina

The detail on her dress was beyond gorgeous! Pre215

There is our groom! He was all smiles as he watched his bride walk down the stairs before the reception! We spend an hour photographing these two throughout the house! Each room was so different and helped create totally different photos of our lovely couple! Pre263Indian weddings in Raleigh NCIndian weddings in Raleigh NCPre291Pre313Pre315Pre327

I love how Brian captured these photos of our groom! Next it was off to the ballroom to await our groom and bride’s arrival! Reception118Reception134

The tables were decorated simple, but classy! Red rose petals were placed in the center of each table! Reception136Reception193Reception593

It was dinner time! The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed chatting with each other!Reception595Reception650

This was my first time witnessing a milk ceremony and it was very neat! I adore the pakistani wedding reception traditions! The Sister of the bride brought in the milk and the groom had to pay for the milk before he could drink! Lots of banter and laughter! So much fun! Reception657

Before I knew it, the night was over and our couple headed outside to their white stretch Hummer! It was a beautiful wedding at The Highgrove and we had so much fun!
