When I first started as a Raleigh wedding photographer, I tried to do it all. Birthday photography, event photography, family photography. Everything. Then I photographed my first engagement session and fell in love! I love the connection between people, especially two people who are in love and excited about spending the rest of their lives together! But sometimes we get the question of should we take engagement photos before our wedding? My answer is a yes and here’s why!
Practice
Some people are naturally amazing in front of the camera. I’m not one of those people. I’m very awkward. For this reason, I believe that taking engagement photos gives you a chance to practice before the big day. It gives you a chance to see what poses and angles make you look and feel your best. Plus it gives you a chance to test out your wedding day makeup before the big day.
Save the Dates
Engagement portraits are perfect for sharing on your save the dates. All of your family and friends will love seeing the two of you on the save the date.
One on One Time
We’ll take lots of awesome photos on your wedding day, but there’s something so sweet about engagement photo sessions. Not only is it a time to capture great photos, but it’s a time for the two of you to bond and have some fun together.
