Wedding days can be hectic! Between makeup and hair, finding time to photograph a full bridal session can be difficult! After watching a fellow photographer on Creativelive a few months ago, I decided that I would give each of our brides what I call my 5 minute bridal portraits! It’s literally 5 minutes or less! Here’s how I do it!
Once the bride is completely dressed and ready to walk out of the room for the ceremony, I ask her to have a seat near a window! For the photo below, I asked Tina to sit facing the window in the hotel room! I stood on a stool next to her to capture the natural light from outdoors as it hit her face! I usually go through a series of asking the bride to look down, look up, smile, serious faces, etc!
For this portrait of Sarah, I placed her directly in front of the back door to her home! I stood to the side of her and asked her to look down! This is one of my favorite ways to photograph the brides eyelashes and makeup!
For this photo of Candice, I placed her on a chair in front of the window in her bridal suite! I told her to look down and to the side for this shot!
I really wish I could remember the lady who talked about this technique of capturing bridal photos on Creativelive! I would love to personally thank her! 🙂
Have a lovely day everyone!
