When Brian asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day, the first thing that popped into my head was that I wanted a day to just relax. No dishes, no chores, no cooking, no screaming kids. A day where I can just lay on the couch and binge watch the last few episodes of Fixer Upper! But instead what came out of my mouth was “oh, a pedicure sounds fun!” I’m still not sure why my mind and mouth weren’t on the same page.
I think it’s because as women we tend to want to make sure that everyone else is good before us. Or we feel the need to do all we can for our husbands and kids even when we’re exhausted! I know that I spend the majority of the day between keeping kids alive, cooking and working to help support our family! Between all of that, it’s rare that I get much time to myself to just relax!
This Mother’s Day, I’ve made a little list of things that I want to accomplish this week! These things are very simple, but somehow I’ve struggled with doing these things lately!
1, Exercise
2. Take a guilt free day off from work
3. Watch a movie
Now if I can just manage to tackle this to do list by the end of the week! Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Moms and women!
