Planning your wedding day details will either be one of the best things you ever do or one of the most stressful things. Or maybe you’ll have a little bit of both. There are so many things to do. So many vendors to find and meet. So many details to decorate. In the midst of planning each detail, it can be easy to forget to plan for the actual day. When it comes to creating beautiful photographs, I like to approach this part of the day with a plan. Read on to learn 3 tips for creating a photography timeline.
1. Plan ahead
Having a plan in place prior to your wedding day is vital. We love working with our couples to create a timeline. Every wedding day is different and it’s important to know when photos will take place. We like to plan a certain amount of time for each part of the day. For example, sometimes we will arrive at the venue and spend the first 30 minutes with the groom capturing candids and posed photos. Then we’ll head over to the bridal suite to meet the ladies for the next 45 minutes. Sometimes makeup runs behind or the groom forgets the ring and that leads us to the next point.
2. Add a little cushion
It’s always smart to allot more time than you may actually need. For example, if you need to be dressed and ready for the ceremony by 4 p.m., it’s smart to plan to be done by no later than 3 p.m.
3. Don’t stress
This is sometimes easier said than done. Everything may not go exactly as you wish on your wedding day, but you can trust that we will help keep things on track. Planning ahead for photographs and adding a little extra time throughout the day will help to keep stress levels at a minimum!
We hope that you found these tips helpful! I will come back to share a sample timeline next week!
