3 Reasons Why You Should Hire a Professional Wedding DJ

After years of working weddings, Brian and I have put together our top 3 reasons why you should hire a professional wedding DJ! I think sometimes couples believe that they are only hiring a DJ to play a few songs! That is totally not true! When you think about hiring a wedding DJ, you should think about the fact that you’re hiring someone who is professional, has the equipment needed to do an amazing job and who is organized! Here’s why!

Professionalism

There have been times when Brian and I have ran into some not so professional DJs at weddings! Some would be drinking and on the dance floor with the guest! Some would be on the microphone saying offensive comments to some of the ladies on the dance floor. We’ve seen quite a bit of stuff over the years! We believe that a wedding DJ should be professional. His entire appearance should be read professional! From the way that he dresses for the wedding to the things that he says on the microphone throughout the day! Being totally professional is always our goal at every wedding that we work! We never want to leave a wedding and have the couple think that we were unprofessional!

Equipment

Let me just start by saying that we are not saying that you must have certain equipment in order to be a wedding DJ. We are just saying that the DJ that you hire for your wedding should have the equipment needed to complete the job! Brian received an inquiry a week before a wedding once because the DJ that the couple hired didn’t have the equipment that he needed! So make sure that the DJ that you’re looking at has at least the basics.

Organization

One of the things that we’ve learned over the years is that organization is so important in our business! Brian spends hours organizing his music into folders and subfolders. Before every wedding, he is working to ensure that all of the music that he needs for that wedding is an easily accessible location. You also have to be organized when it comes to collecting all of the information that you need from each couple prior to the wedding day! A lot of time goes into organization before we ever arrive at the wedding!
